Freescale Extends i.MX35 Family into Industrial and Consumer Markets

Optimized for computationally intensive industrial and consumer applications, Freescale’s pin-compatible i.MX353 and i.MX357 applications processors combine the ARM1136JF-S™ core with an OpenVG graphics engine, cost-effective DDR2 memory support and an array of connectivity interfaces. The i.MX353 processor targets cost-sensitive display-based systems, while the i.MX357 integrates an OpenVG 1.1-compliant graphics processing unit to address applications requiring an advanced user interface with higher levels of graphics, such as font rendering. GMI Technology Triples DVR Chipset Shipments in Q4 2008

GMI Technology Inc. today announced record shipments of DVR chipsets. For the quarter ending December 31st, 2008 unit shipments more than tripled from the prior quarter. Jeilin's JL4200B chip incorporates a full set of features including memory card interface, USB interface, JPEG Decoder and Audio/Video DAC. GMI Technology (Public, TPE: 3312) is expecting a year-on-year growth of over 50% for sales volumes of Realtek LCD controllers.
